Im starting to think about my winter precautions.
Im buying a cold water tank jacket, building a wooden frame around the tank, then cladding in ply to sandwich the jacket.
But my pier de resistance will be an electric blanket built inbetween the tank and and the jacket it will only be used when the outside temperature will be - degrees

Get the tank off the floor and a few slabs of polystyreen all around and you'll be a happy camper...

My main winter precaution is making sure there's enough xmas pudding with lots of brandy sauce.

winter up here past 2 years has been terrible.

As they say "fail to plan, plan to fail" This will be my first wfp winter so ive been thinking ahead 2 - ive been looking at a 1.9/2kw propane heater with stat off the net for about £90 for the back of a berlingo to stop the pumps etc freezing, but it will b tight as ive a 500l upright fixed behind the bulkhead. Id have 2 leave the windows slightly open for venting, but im wondering if this is to dangerous?

I'm sorted for this winter, in January (albeit a little late for last winter) I fitted a 27" 3KW immersion heater to my 400ltr van tank with mechanical flange. One of the best things I ever did for two reasons-
1. I have 400ltrs of very warm water to use which keeps all my hoses supple too.
2. It also acts as a giant radiator in the van. Nothing even gets close to freezing, the whole van is like toast in the morning! :D :D
