None. I squirt a little along the applicator sleeve. If using something like Fairy, a little goes a long way.

oh dear we have some silly billys on here today ha

That's just my preference, but im sure you will try a few different detergents before you find one you are happy with as I did.

I've always found it OK. Only use a little though. I wasn't joking about squirting direct to applicator.
I have tried some of those other liquids. Some of them didn't give enough slip. Others you could hardly see when using them unless you used them in a far more concentrated manner than advertised. Personally, if I've made a mistake on the glass, I like to be able to see it so that I can put it right.
Why not experiment until you find what works best for you?

Gg3 is only for soft/ pure water,
If you are in colchester, i think you said on another post, the water is very hard.
So you need gg4 not gg3.
Hope this helps

use the same amount as you would use for ur dishes if the windows tend to be extra dirty that month use a little xtra

I put 6 squirts in my bucket, plus 2 capfuls of vinegar.
Works well for me.

are you adding the water after or before? how longs that last you before you change the water?
-
I would suggest putting the water in 1st and then the detergent.
Unless you want to have a foam party ;)

I put the water in the bucket, then add the fairy and vinegar.
The water usually lasts me all day (seriously), although I carry enough for one change should it become necessary.

i put my fairy in first then water once i get to work the suds have nearly gone, its a trail an error situation i no how much fairy and water to add to get a good mix,to much fairy and suds take longer to remove from the window/sills and not enough will cause a squeeqee kick so you will be wasting time getting the scrim out to clean the mistakes up,1 bucket usually lasts me for the day unless im working on a main road where the glass is filthy, some of my custys think i change the water after each house ::)
-
Im sorry , but if you need advice on how much fairy to put in your bucket..... well ! ;)
-
Just put one squirt or a tea spoon size into your bucket does not matter how you put it in before or after you fill with water.
And i do believe some who use GG3/GG4 put a dash of fairy into the bucket as well as GG3/GG4 dont foam up much or none at all.
And I have tried most liquids and that includes screenwash which isnt bad at all.
The preference for one person isn't the same for another so what ever you are happy to use well just use it. ;D ;D ;D

Its no good saying put a squirt in or 50 ml or whatever amount, because it'll depend on how much water you put in as well. 50 ml in a full bucket is totally inadequate.
The answer is just enough so that when you draw your mop through your clenched hand it feels adequately lubricated so that your blade glides across the glass.
Fairy Liquid isn't used so much to clean but more to lubricate.

I found that strangely arousing.

Are you really cut out for working for yourself, this isn't a big thing to work out for yourself!!
This post is exactly the reason I suggest working along with someone for a day or so. It's got to be the daftest question asked so far.
You could work this out yourself by trial and error over the course of a week. I doubt very much that anyone here even thinks about the quantity.
PS Don't use fairy as it will attract dirt along your turning lines.

i agree with sunshine.it is a dumb question to ask really.i use gg3/squeegee off MIXED TOGETHER.i just put a squirt of both in an empty bucket and fill up.professional window cleaning detergents are far superior IMO than fairy.any washing up liquid is too sticky once you get used to the pro stuff.

dazmond

Dump fairy liquid,.. it leaves a sticky residue & makes your job harder.
If you don't want to spend for a pro liquid, try W5 washing up liquid from Lidl,.. still not perfect, but a whole lot better than fairy.

GG3 IS OVER RATED,some people are so gullable, just use any other brand like Ettore or Unger liquids but I use CROWN WINDOW PLUS,best stuff ever as Morning Fresh is too, similar to Fairy but not so suddy, give it a go,why spend money on the GG3 as it does a worse job than Fairy,at least with Fairy you get some glide,I was gullable enough to buy GG3 in the past, used it the once and binned it,complete waste of money in my opinion :P

As I said thats just my preference, other people like other detergents.
I use gg3 with pure water and never have a problem with squeegee glide.
Perhaps you was putting too much in?

I have used Fairy for 14 years, with a small amount of vinegar, and I achieve excellent results.
My brother who is also a windy uses (I believe it was) GG3. It works well for him, but when I tried it I didn't feel it was any better than Fairy, so I stayed with what I was used to.
I agree that Fairy can 'stick', particularly when the weather is hot but I counter that with using cold water in summer. Again, the results are excellent.
John.

i use fairy.a 3 second squirt after filling the bucket does it for me. ;D
-
big squirt of fairy ! ( liquid in before the water , if seriously asking )

It probably takes me about 3 seconds toput in 6 squirts of Fairy!
Next question: What is the optimum lb per square inch pressure that should be exerted on the bottle?
Answers on a postcard while I get my coat. ;D

I find 55psi just right. ;D ;D

Roughly 10cc

although there are quite a few helpful answers on here, I see there are the usual smarmy put down ones off a few. He is asking a question.Yes he could trial and error and work it out himself, But that could be said about almost any question posted on this site. There really are some dicks on this site, right up their own arses!!!

I used Fairy for close on 40 years. It's relatively cheap, universally available and does the job.
I found the best proportion is that which is just enough to give you an easy slide with the rubber. Any more and you get problems with residue.
A bucket of water/Fairy would last a full working day. A 500ml bottle of Fairy would last a couple of weeks.

How do they manage that? ;D

I don`t like Fairy-A
Oh no, I love it...
Seriously though, I find Fairy a bit messy.

Griffin'll start get 'excited' if you carry on like that ;D
