i have been cc for 4yrs now and all is going ...........ok, not briliant but ok!
now i am considering with all the leaflets i send out to commercials wheather or not to start advertising and selling cleaning equipment?????
some questions i have are;
will it be too much to take on?? (like starting up a whole new business?? ) and effect my cc?? i work approx 3 1/2 - 4 days a week
do national chains companies buy indivdually from local companies or do they tender from head office?
answers to this or any other info would be much apprieciated

Selling equipment competitively and profitably while giving good service is harder than you might think.
Once you start selling equipment you'll then get drawn in to selling consumables, and then providing servicing and then training. It's just not the sort of thing you can easily add on to an existing carpet cleaning business.
National chains, generally, will not buy from small local dealers. They screw down the big national dealers to the point where they're not actually as good customers as you might think!
If I were you, I'd concentrate on selling more services to your exisiting customers. Are you making the most out of selling protectors, for example? Have you thought about window cleaning or patio cleaning? These are the sort of things that are likely to give you a reasonably quick boost if you're not as busy as you'd like to be!
