my first proper, and i mean proper blacktop job. that bad my shoe came off when i walked across it, it was that sticky, you cannot see the carpet and if you knock on it, it sounds like your knocking on a door.solid. excited aint the word. roll on sunday, wooooohooooooooooooo.

You need to get out more Derek....... ;D
-
At least the heat from the trucky will get through it. The only time I ever think "I wish I had a TM" is when I'm cleaning Indian restaurants, worst black top ever.... But I tend to give those jobs away now, I was piling the pounds on with all the food they paid me with ;D
-
Derek i love it when you talk dirty ;D
Hot power burst with a dash of citra concentrate? no ice ;D
You might even find some black chewing gum spots under all that
you lucky boy ;D
ps give it a good wack with a wire brush get the pre spray in there

i do get out, i'm going the pub on sunday to drink 60,000 pints of lager.
out of the carpet. ;D
really can't wait, when he said i'd got the job, a little bit of wee come out ;D that might be old age though ;D
steve i think this will be hot citra boost with a dash of powerburst. and GUM! there was a crisp packet in there that ripped when i tried to pick it up. seriously. it was like walking on sticky laminate. i'm wondering if there is a carpet under there at all.

This was one of my worse ones :o
Is it as bad or worse?
(Pic attached)
-
you can still see the pattern - so no, its not a real bad one. But it is a "funny" colour.

I thought Colin used his oven cleaner on that stuff! Probably can't get the carpet in the dip tank. ;D
-
Hope you take a pack op carpet tacks with you as it's highly probable you will get shrinkage on such a manky carpet.
Ironically the best product I ever used on such a carpet was a non c/c chemical from Cleenol which is sold as a hard surface degreaser.
The restaurant owner started spraying it in the worst area and the solid blacktop came away very easily. Even using steam and an Ashby's chewing gum wand was less effective than this stuff.
Obviously requiring heavy duty rinsing and not to be recommended in normal every day situations.

I might try "Vanquish" next time ;D
I had one in St Ives and I ended up packing up and leaving, the black top was like chewing gum.... :o

bob
thought about tacks.
as for degreaser, its not grease. this is pure beer. its one of them pubs that only opens 2 nights a week. takes £11000 a night, is full of 18 14 to 30 year olds drinking and spilling beer, the worse bit is inbetween the bar and the dance floor. i would guess i could clean it with just hot water. but i'll use a prespray first to try and loosen it a bit.
shrinkage is a worry though. its a wilton, but luckily not belgian. so the wool will help a bit.
-
Bob a lot of the kitchen degreaser contain the 3 sodium's
1, TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE
2, CARBONATE
3, METASILICATE
Sodium metasilicate (aka) the grease buster
All 3 can be found in cc pre sprays/detergents
-
its time to kick a$$ and chew gum.
and i'm all out of gum. ;D
-
result. ;D
-
Evidence??! ;)

Just had a look .......great results. It looked like a flotex type carpet... is it?
Who was operating the machine, tell them to have the handle a bit lower into their waistline and relax abit, looks like the veins were going to burst in their hands and wrists ;D....Just like I used to be when I first started, soon learnt when it started to hurt :'(
