Not all do but there is so much muck up there I don't feel confident unless I know they're clean.

i clean them ebery time as then it takes no extra time and you know they are done right

I do now. But I didn't as I believed that by touching them I was risking streaks and spotting. It's all about experience and confidence with WFP.

First clean - scrubbedy dub the upper windows up to the top of the top frame, including vents all round the house and wash the rest of the upper windows at the same time.
Do the same on the bottom windows.
The tops should have stopped leeching and dripping by now.
Go back to the upper windows and do the glass only to perfection and wipe the cills. Do the same on the bottoms after you have done the tops.
Subsequent cleans - easy peasy lemon squeezy - maybe miss the top frame on monthly cleans and do it every other time if it looks OK.

I don't always do it. On fairly frequent cleans it doesn't seem to be necessary anyway - especially if I'm in a hurry to get finished. There are days when it's glass and sills only.
Also, I will definitely leave top frames if tile hanging comes too close and there is a danger of knocking it. Same thing if there's a risk of squirting the brickwork directly above a frame. There are also frames where the water can get in through the top of an opener and inside. You get to remember these after a while (usually ;D ).

I used to do this, but now I just scrub until I'm sure they are clean then rinse. It reduces the time on 1st cleans and up to now no problems.
