Title: Filling a DI vessel pls help as only got my resin today first time of filling it
Post by: H2O TECH on June 14, 2011, 02:52:48 pm
ive got an 11L vessel and 10 L of resin, vessels never been used, do I just put it in drink ive heard you can mix it with water making it slush then pour into it, will the water out of my RO be ok, its 15TDS or would it have to be 0.00

or do I just fill it up dry to the neck, its prob very simples but i dont want to screw it up (no pun)

is it fool proof?

the best way i,ve found,is to put a cone shape in the hole  first,(in order not to get any resin on the thread) cause it,s a bit of a bugger trying to screw the top on with grit in the thread. Fill resin 3/4 of way up, and then pour pure  water in to cover the resin, after that bung the top on,,,job done,,if you try putting the top on without putting the water in first you,ll find it difficult to get the thread to turn because it never seems to drop straight down through the resin ,,hope that helps

Search on You Tube for 'replacing DI resin' there's at least two  methods on there - the slushy way and filling 3/4 then topping up with water.

I usually go about 3/4 full of resin, remember you gotta get that lid back in there! And you just add water to make it slushy bud, there isnt like a set amount or anything.
