Can you recommend a portable machine for carpet cleaning? Are steam cleaners any good?

Paula

If you are look for a mid range machine I would recommend the Alltec Aqua 40 Plus. This machine is great and the results are good aswell.

i use the extracta excell and find it very good, i dont think theres that much differents between the main contenders myself ie, ninga-extracta-alltec they all do the same sort of thing if you want better results its all in the chemicals-training etc.

EXTRACT are good units i have had 3 of them.

the excell is a good unit,a bit over the top on electrics & very small inlet vac port which i guess thats where they get the 220 inch of water lift, but reduces CFM,built in heater,so no extra cost there.fixable fiberglass housing also a good point, down side is that for a machine which is over 15 yrs old they still use a low power 100psi pump which in my mind is below minimum requirements.(prochem also)

Paula,

Things to consider.

Who fixes it when it goes wrong , Prochem is the nearest to you , Ashbys and Alltec both within reasonable driving distance.

There are portables and not so portables , the weight is important , particularly to a member of the fairer sex.

Go for the highest spec portable you can realistically move/lift .

Look at number of vacs , size of pump, heater, weight, price.

Cheers,

Doug
