Title: Does anyone use this ?...........
Post by: Steve Chapman on June 10, 2011, 03:21:35 pm
Hi All,

just wondered if anyone uses the Docmail service for marketing to their database

http://www.cfhdocmail.com/fsb/

As a FSB member it looks like a good deal,  printing & mailing your mailshot for what looks like cheaper than a  normal stamp,

I dont know about you, but i constantly get behind with reminders and newsletters and the thought of printing and mailing hundreds really puts me off doing it.

I think with this you can design any letter or postcard, upload it along with your database and they do the rest.

Sounds good but has anyone had any expereince of using it ?

Maybe its a new thing, cant say ive come across it before....

Regards
Steve

Never used it Steve, but saw it in the latest FSB newsletter and, like you, thought it was interesting.

That'll teach me to read things properly.
I didn't see that before mag went in the bin, guess I'll have to get it back out now.

Theres not normally that much that interests me but that just caught my eye, looks like a good deal, might give it a try,

Think you can have a trial run, so maybe go for that

That looks quite good Steve. I use something similar which has been around a lot longer and more sophisticated,  but this looks cheaper per mailing certainly. Worth a try!

As you are mailing to existing customers you do not have to worry about the envelopes looking like sales letters.

In that case, it looks a good deal. A friend in the Post Office tells me that franking is far cheaper than stamps so this is probably where the saving comes in.

It will certainly save you hours / days stuffing envelopes by hand (unless you have a machine like Alltec were selling a few years ago).

All seems fairly positive, cant see how they can do it so cheaply, but if it means i dont have to print and

mail its gotta be worth it 8)

Will try it this coming week and see how easy it is..........

Hi all,

Just a quick update for those that are interested in the Docmail service,  i have tried it for a couple of weeks now and all I can say is I think its brilliant,  it does everything it says it does.

Probably took an hour or so to get the initial test doc up and running but after several goes it takes me about half an hour to upload a document, upload database contacts, choose delivery type and click send.

It saves all your documents, so you can just repeat a campaign very quickly if you want to.

Doing about a hundred at a time, not costing me anymore than normal second class stamp, in fact a lot less as saving all the printing costs and stuffing envelopes etc.

Must say the quality is a lot better than i thought it would be, ( I added myself to the mailing list just to make sure of delivery times and see what t would look like )

Have done a postcard for domestic customers and a letter for the commercial ones.

Had some calls this week and last so know it is working,

No more printing for me  ;D
