You're doing well there.  The best I've ever had with my HF5 is 008/009 (from about 200 at tap).  I imagine that you have a higher water pressure than me.  The mains in the immediate area is shared with several other businesses though the only one that is a high user would be the window cleaning business next door.

I am well happy with my hf5 also. 450 odd down to 14/15 and about 2lts of pure water a min.   :)

Hi, mate...
I made a cart with that RO, and 2 pre filters of 20'', and a heavy duty pump. But in my situation I just get 1.5lt a minute. Online they are say with this kind of cart we can get 6lt per minute, how is that possible???

DO you need to use salt to soften the water before membranes, being as it's such a high tap tds.

The reason i ask is that i either need replacement membranes and filters or a completely new RO system.

I am currently getting 35 from my RO (which I know s very high) so think it's about time i did something about it. The lowest i have ever had water from RO is 13

I don't currently bother with a salt softening process before RO though.

Softening your water won't affect your tds but it will prolong the life of your membrane.

The salt is just used to regenerate the resin beads. It doesn't actually soften the water itself. You certainly don't want to send salt through you membrane as you'll wreck it.

It's an amazing bit of kit. The HF-4 gave me 30ppm and the HF-5 gives me 7ppm. 40-45psi after 2x 10inch prefilters with 1/2" connectors. 240ppm in or so, 70 waste 30 pure. No boosterpump or anything.
