Title: bigger van or trailer?
Post by: Mist A Bit on June 03, 2011, 11:09:06 pm
hi guys

got to make a choice. Need to carry more water so the escort van and 300ltr tank is no longer suitable. i need to run a larger van(transit) or simular and get rid of my car. Or pull a trailer system with the car. Didnt want to get rid of my car but think its time to run one vehicle. Does anybody use a trailer with say 650ltr plus tank, any pics or feedback would be great. thanks

steve

I dont know myself but 650l is a heck of a weight to carry to start and wouldnt be the best thing to tow.

My mate pulls a 250l tank round sometimes and he says it does slosh about

I've had a trailer with a pressure washing setup in it,... it was a nightmare to be honest. Simple things like parking become an issue and a source of stress. Turning in estates can be tough going too if there are cars parked on the side of the road. I found it slowed me down & stressed me out, so I'd recommend a bigger van every time.

Why was it a nightmare Sean? I've been thinking about getting a trailer, I used to use one when I worked for a builder and hated it at first but got quite good with it after I got used to it!

Check out the insurance of using a trailer for business. If you do get a trailer make sure its a 4 wheeler and look after the locking of it. Its a right pain, get a bigger van.

PArking, and manouvering, but i was rubbish at driving it as not long past my test at the time , and it was a big box trailer, but its better than replacing your van if moneys an issue, also i found out that i would have to do a test to legally keep driving it , so got rid, but i wouldnt use one gain, i just hate trying to manouvere them when its tight
