Title: Extreme brush and bird poo??!!
Post by: Pure Glass on June 03, 2011, 08:32:02 pm
I'm currently using a sl mono brush and sometimes struggle to get the crusty stuff off.

Is the extreme any good for well on poo as its a much softer brush?

Ta, Steve

isn't that why it has a scraper

Does it? I haven't looked yet. Is that with the soft or mega soft brushes?

Mine doesn't have a scraper or anywhere for a scraper.

The scraper is the top edge of the stock, it's shaped to a sharpe edge all along it.

To be honest, I don't use the scraper as I use a normal brusg socket on it & this protrudes a bit further than the top edge of the stock & actually makes a good scraper itself. ;)

Damn, I cut and filed my socket down so I could use the scraper, only to find the stock was bowed and hardly touched the glass. Gardiner's have said the new extremes are perfectly straight though.

My new Xtreme stock is perfectly straight but I still use the protruding socket edge. ;)

Gardiners have a new socket (http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/info_BRUSH_SOCKET_90_DEGR.html) that should make the scraper more useable with an adjustable goose neck.

So, has anyone got the new straightened extreme with the new socket and if so....does the scraper actually do it's job any better?

The brush(extreme) is good, but what the brush don't get the scraper makes short work of. I thought it was a bit of a joke when I first saw it but it works very well.

Vikan are still the top sellers
Aerial brush i expect are fast on there heels
so you can have all the exteme brushes you want
you must have missed smudger's review of the aerial brush
its about money, not messing about with equipment
you start off earning £30ph then should go up
wont happen for everyone though  ::)

i wish the owners of aerial, would send out a few brushes to independant cleaners, with no interest in other companies, to trial these brushes,
if they are so great it can only be good for business,

think you missed your chance steven, on that one
the reviews I have read on here have all been positive
if you do get one
it will take time to get your head around how much quick you can clean
if your not going to use like that, dont bother just use any brush

They are seriously fast, smudger has had his for a month
but I bet he still uses it slower than it could be used
I know I did  ;D

No the title of the thread doesn't say it all. It asks a question as to wether it is any good.

As for the aerial brush and bird poo, if it's baked on then it needs scrubbing like any other brush.

i use the exreme, with hot water, and bird pooh comes off fine,
and ive only seen 1 review for the aerial brush, seen lots of reviews for the extreme 99% positive.
i was just wondering, if the aerial brush is far superior, why dont the makers push the fact and dish out some freebees to get the product , out there , ????

Hi Steven
I bought an Aerial brush, not on the recommendation of Alex who, IMHO is one of the most biased posters on this topic that there is and extremely anti Gardiners, but on a fair evaluation from LeeGLS whose input I find very helpful, honest and impartial.
Sadly, I did not get on with this brush at all and felt it was a complete waste of money.

I have given a detailed report of why I personally couldn't get on with it in a previous post, but Alex has selective memory and ignores anyone's comments that maybe negative. It would be interesting to find out why Alex is so anti Gardiners and so pro Tecbuc.

This thread is a good read -

Not as bad as you make out
New and better productsd are coming on the market
there are anti ionic anti brodex etc
there is several gardiner fans
who constanly post 10 post or more each day
70 plus post each day, running into hundreds each week
for products that tend to fall apart more often than any other manufaturer
take the Water fed pole company Elite poles
easily comparable to gardiners better made better quality and value
yet you still get the same old rubbish from gardiner fans

The aerial brush is the best, just because you cant use it
says more about you than any brush including the superlights

Didn't you read the post this week where a user had his base section snap in half in his new Elite pole Alex?

NEVER heard of an slx base section snapping. ;)

I had an SL2 section snap in half on me.  You'd think they would make them resistant to being trodden on (by me).  Nothing that a fishing tackle shop couldn't cure though.

The SL2 is a different ball game to be honest AND you trod on it, it didn't snap in use. ;)

Indeed.  I did forget to put a smiley in my post but I'm sure people would realise that it was tongue in cheek (though perfectly true).
