I have friend (honestly),who plumbed in his Merlin. Tds in 250ish,out is 80ish. He has decent pressure, it can be adjusted from 0 to 90psi. My question is,does it need flushing and if so how,or what are the options to reduce the tds. He didn't flush before filling his ibc. Many thanks in advance,Jamie.

You can't flush a Merlin like a 40/40. There is a flush kit available for Merlins and its just works sporadically or intermittently. I think its designed for a short burst when a tap is turned on, or after the tap has been turned on. If its a new system i'd just run it for a good few hours and send all the product to waste anyway?

Cheers Mike but how do you run waste only as there are no valves?

You can't mate, just direct your product water down the drain.

just let it settle down
our water up in n/wales is over
300
my water thru merlin is 006/09
just change the filters every
dark side ov the moon

Cheers Mike and Gav :)

iv never changed the membrane
just filters , it as to settle its self out
if you get me ,
you can restrict the waste but that will increase tds
;)

when you first start pumping water through the TDS will be high - this is TDS creep where particles have
settled in the mebrane from previous use - run the merlin for 5 mins before checking TDS
it should drop dramatically at this time - with your tap TDS you should be looking at 20 to 25 out providin
your mains pressure is high enough
