I USED TO HAVE A PURE FREEDOM 200GPD WITH NO BOOSTER PUMP. HIGH 300'S TAP TDS. PRODUCT TDS=60 :'(
COST ME A FORTUNE IN RESIN. NOW IM NOT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THAT RO AS IT PROBABLY JUST NEEDED A BOOSTER PUMP. HOWEVER I HAD BEEN LOOKING AT THE VYAIR 200GPD WITH FITTED BOOSTER PUMP AS I HAD HEARD GOOD THINGS SO WENT FOR IT, HERE ARE THE STATS...TAP TDS 380 ISH. PRODUCT TDS=003 :o :o :o :o I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! CHECKED IT, CHECKED AGAIN YEP 003 :o THAT WAS LAST WEEK AND HAD THE RO RUNNING AGAIN TODAY..003. GOODBYE RESIN BILL. NOT ONLY IS THE TDS BRILLIANT IT PRODUCES WATER SO MUCH QUICKER THAN MY OLD 200 GPD. MY CONCLUSION YOU DEFINATELY NEED A BOOSTER PUMP! VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER 8)

Was trying to decide between Vyair and 4040 :-\ but decided to buy a 4040 from Gaps Water today. Should have it tomorrow.

no you dont definately need a boooster pump .

Do you know what your waste to pure ratio is please. I am on a meter and it would be useful to get some idea as my tds is 370,so similar to yours.

The guy at Vyair said the waste ratio would be 1:3

the 450gpd is 1:2 good to bad. and i am getting 50l pure an hour

no you dont definately need a boooster pump .

I would say its more like 2:1 but i would ring them the chap is very helpful and the system has exceeded my expectations.
honestly it turns 380 tds into 003 im well chuffed.

I have the Vyair 400GPD RO and my waste ratio is only slightly above 1:1 (1000ml pure = 1060ml waste roughly) which I think is brilliant. Its the best RO I've used so far by a long shot, and the auto start, auto shutoff, auto flush etc make it very easy to setup & use.

The reason I would go for it is the larger capacity tubing ( less resistance ) used and two pumps,one for each ro membrane( DOUBLE FLOW RATE) e it makes sense.
