Ive had the metal ones, and most will dis agree on here but you cant beat a good old plastic hozelock one like this

Mines been going over 2 years and they sell them locally for £12.99, bargain by all accounts, get 100m of 6mm on easy. Very hard wearing, i wasnt impressed with the metal ones, they dont stand up to the job in my opinion. I cant comment on gardiners ones as i dont know.
My 2 pence worth.

wont this green thing just fall over when i go for a run with the hose?

No secure it down, i use something resembling this, i get 4 of them and screw them down.

I got them from local diy shop, they usually to fix pipping to the walls etc. Cost pennys ;)

plank of wood on each metal runner and it stabilises it. Done this with my metal reel and it's ideal. Will work on hosereel
