Title: Dirty Rat!
Post by: richardlingard on May 31, 2011, 06:52:07 pm
Can't believe it, had a guy work for me for three days a month ago gave him great pay, he seemed alright but after three days i noticed money going missing and when i went collecting customers were telling me that he had said it was HIS company, so, of course he was sacked on the spot, denied everything but never the less sacked, i ended up saying have the new work that he had picked up about 20 £7 houses just to cut my losses and rid the bad taste that was left in my mouth, and now today, im getting phone calls from customers saying that the window cleaners had been with "your windows have been cleaned tickets" when they had not been done!

That is terrible! and im having to tell the X-Customers that they are not my customers, i have not met any of them he was using my leaflets when he first got them, it just makes me feal horrible to be honest, for all the effort going in to decipt and looking over the shoulder etc why did he not just do the work ....

i know dave its why alot of us dont but end of the day if you wana go for higher targets you need to take risks employing is one , you could get a right idiot if you are unlucky and he could mess 20% of your round up.

so for those who have plans to employ just really do your home work on whoever wants to work for you!

I've seen this done time and time again its very hard keeping a close eye on the little fookers... Going about saying there the boss and telling you houses have cancelled when infacted them houses have gone in his little black book for next month...
A good friend of mine had this done about 4yrs ago i helped him build a 3k round up to get him going then soon after he got a guy working for him but then things slowley went wrong from there... Get yourself round all your houses quick mate and explain whats happened before you lose more than you bargain for..

Had a similar thing happen by a toe rag who came to me recommended, all sweetness and light to start with then you start to see what they are about.

Once he had been told to go I found out he had been picking up new customers and not informing me and where a customer was paying £8 and had no

change, he would say he would call back but never did so I was left to clear up.

He also took work with him  that came in whilst working for me, nice work ethics eh!

Must admit though it was a great feeling once he had gone as I dont have to listen to his continual verbal diarrhea, as he was one of life's victims and no one else had problems just him.

Got a great young lad now and works coming in steady. Sometimes you have to work with crap before finding a good one.

Thanks to all that shared your views, you can feal lonely as a windy sometimes, but 100% better now and looking forward to a good day tommorow, with a new lad one day a week, hes completely new, but alright i think, know him a little and hes honest, thats all i ask,.... might be slow and take ages to learn with only one day a week , but don't lie, don't steal and BE HAPPY, its not the worst thing in the world!
Hes a cheff so looking for another job, but it helps me out doing a big day with two of us, and it helps him out with a little extra whist he has no job

If that happened to me I would be writing a personal letter to all my custys, explaining what had happened. I would also change my stationery (windows cleaned tickets), and enclose a copy with each letter.

Damage limitation is the name of the game here.

Sorry this has happened to you, and hope it all gets back on track for you.

John.

The worst thing ever is when ex-employees go out and collect your work in after you've cleaned it yourself.

It happened to me a while back and I wasn't impressed to say the least.
