The suppliers say u must intelligent chargers to make them last but their well expensive

Ive got a charger and just got a 85ah 12v battery , not charged it yet as it had charge in and been using it
Should i wait till it dies then charge it fully on trickle?
Or what? And how often as im using it should i charge it
I dont have split relay set up, could i use a 12v - 240 v transformer /inverter in van lighter to plug charger in and charge battery in van??

thats why they say you should use an intelligent charger
it sorts it out wot ever state and charges it up properly apparently
will probably invest
thanks for ur help

Buy a ctek charger, it maybe expensive but so is buying a new battery in a few months time. Charge as often as possible and try not to let the battery go below 50%.

Solar Panel on the top of the van. Never charge battery in summer. Prob 3-4 times in winter.
I've used this one for years.
