Yes of course they are good and would do fine for a backup machine if it comes at the right price. Alltec machines were much sought after some years ago but since the introduction of the Scorpion, the Airflex and now the Jaguar, Alltec would have slipped somewhat in the market place.

Bulky, heavy!

But nonetheless they are built solidly and you very rarely hear of them failing electrically.  I seem to recall a few reports of waste/fresh tanks leaking but they can be patched up as it is a fibreglass construction (careful of abuse, will crack if anything whacked into it with force).  Alltec engineers are very good at their jobs, but the service can be a little ropey if they're busy (never get the call backs you're promised etc etc... maybe they should charge all their porty users £50 a year for support :D :D ).

Vac motors configured in parallel unless I'm mistaken, so good on airflow but lacking lift.  Depends on your views as to whether this is preferable to an in-series config or not!

I've used a similar machine and the heater was a piddly little thing that took AGES to heat up, the element is much smaller than a ninja which heats very quickly in comparison

I started off with a Pro Plus 100psi years ago and still think its the best looking porti on the market, as Jim said it is solid and well built, customers always commented on how professional it looked.

I use an advance 600 which I've had just over two years.

Although I can't compare to other like for like machines as never used them I can't fault it. Looks good (compared to some of the others out there) and does a great job every time. Easy to get in and out of the van, even when half full.

The ebay one is the older version but looks to be in good condition. Just be sure its a recent photo and not circa 1975  ;D

That was me complaining about the solution tank leaking. It was my own fault, I left it in the shed and the reducer nut popped coz of the frost we had. It was a small leak that got progressively worse. I called my supplier in Enniscillen and he had the part I needed down to me the next day. Its a brilliant machine ( the Advance 600)
I only use pure water in it though, dont go throwin the ultimate master into the sol tank, use a separate sprayer for that.
