I've been asked this a few times. I'm afraid my answer is a bit tongue in cheek
"Yes madam I do hire out a machine. In fact it comes with a free operator as well! ;D ;D Yours for £100 an hour."
Most people are price shoppers and tut about my answer. I'm afraid only one person really saw the funny side of it. they did book in and were well pleased with the result.
Happy days.

Thanks Alan I was thinking of liquid 90 but not sure if it would be ok for upholstery
and own label spotters.
Roger the reason I am thinking of this is I have a sensei machine doing nothing
and think I would get a better return renting than selling it also gives me the chance
to upsell to customers who hire machines.

My old Prochem machine was sitting around doing nothing, then the hardware store down the road started to hire out the RD...so thought can't beat them and started to hire my machine out.
People have hired mine after the RD and can't belive the differance when they use mine.
After demo ect i leave them with Exctraction plus and charge accordinly.
At the end of the day your earning money from something that is sitting there doing nothing.. ;D
Don't forget to get it PAT tested so your covered

We used to, started 32 years ago with Hydromists, and used to supplt Premiere Producs Release, started off with 3 machines and ended up with 20, and used to hire about 15 out every day, chargine a teener a day so good money, till the mid 80`s and idiots on the dole would buy one and clean a full house for a tenner, or just after beer money

Similar happens here. Ended up having a laugh with the bloke though! He contacts yells 118 247 , gets us. He asks for a guide price to have his end of tenancy clean done. I give price, he says thanks and off he goes.
Phone rings again. A "familiar" voice says "how much to hire a CC machine. I recognised the voice and gave him the same price as before, saying that our terms of hire include a fully trained operator. There was a brief pause and he said I've got you again haven't I? I said yes, recognised your voice too!
He laughs and says that'll teach me to be a cheapskate then. He also said that he wouldn't use 118 247 again as the first time he asked for a Carpet Cleaner and then somewhere he could hire a carpet cleaning machine from the second time and got our number both times........we don't advertise hire as we don't hire out.
As it turned out we couldn't do the work for him as we were fully scheduled, but were able to recommend someone for him :)
