Title: Van Insurance
Post by: Wrekin C S on May 26, 2011, 11:17:57 pm
Hi all

Its that time of year again just had my renewal quote through and insurance has more than doubled wtf?

Now I know insurance has gone up but asking for a grand is a joke, currently with A plan I am looking for a new insurer for Van and system.

Anyone had a good deal latley if so who with?

Thanks.

Alright Lee

£538 with £300 Excess + £80 for System and Poles.

I Just Done a quote online through Compare the market come in at £338 with autonet didn't mention about system though or say what modifications - I guess wfp system is a mod though so if accident occured wonder if they insure you?

They would use it as a reason not to if you didnt declare it. There are only a few companies that will insure us with a fitted tank. Im moving house and the quotes that i am getting online with out the tank being mentioned are ridiculous, they range from 6-900, so when i tell them it will have a tank its going to shoot right up  :-[

Don't know if this helps but I've just insured my new van (Transit 55 plate with 650ltr tank) for £590 with extra named driver. Was worried because only just gone wfp and I didn't have any no claims to use but this company mirror imaged my no-claims which I had on my car and gave me an introductory 4 years. Their name is Commercial Vehicle Direct 01454 634536, low excess too ! First quote was £1300 then £1000, just shows you need to keep ringing around.

More Than Business or CVD are generally the cheapest that I have found

Swinton were ok but charged us £60 for a change of vehicle, about 1/3 of the premium! Not impressed as I've normally paid £0-£20.
