Hilta Yanmar diesel engine 200 bar @ 3000psi. I own three and on Saturday will be adding another two to the collection. We have dropped them out of vans (and they kept going), tipped them upside down and generally work the arse off every machine but they just keep going!!! and they are cheap as chips to run.

Ive just bought my fourth and fifth one for £1200.00 - secondhand.
There are some very good second hand machines about, just spend some time on ebay. I never buy new machines.
I have five Hilta Yanmar. All five has cost me less than one brand new one, I have three other machines as well.

I tend to look at the diesel pressure washers twice a day when I am at home and at least three times a week I look through every listing in pressure washers - so I know what is coming up.
I had a conversation yesterday with my service man about two Hilta Yanmar pressure washers that he was watching on ebay. I said don't bother bidding as I have already bought them.
Keep an eye out on Ebay. If you are unsure ring me and I will tell you what I think.
You should get a chance on any upcoming ones as I have my quota for now and will be tied up pressure washing a supermarket roof for the next couple of weeks in the Poole area.
Happy hunting

Snapped up a Yanmar engine for 100 quid on ebay the other week. Mint runner, just need a gearbox and unloader to add to a 201 pump I've got for it.
Got another Yanmar with a 202 pump on and 2 Honda Diesels with Cat pumps. Both as good as each other.
Did you not get that Kohler, Rob?

I'm waiting to here back off Mike!

Until they break and you can't replace.
I started out with a chinese snide thinking I was clever by saving money. I think back and laugh at how stupid I was.

I wanted to reply to that post but now there's no need!!!
I bought my first two pressure washers off GM Plant sales (the seller). His name is gary and that machine will be worth buying. Not for me this one.
I am looking for something with about 30 - 60 litres per minute that can be used for jetting but without breaking the bank.
The Kohler Mike bought was exactly what I am after and it looks like I am going to get drain jetters now and do a conversion (with quick releae connectors) to the fill hose and to get dual use the filler hose will have pressure washer hose added.

Seen a jetter on a bowser the other day like in this link http://www.jetchem.co.uk/jettingunits.asp?id=4 but in white for sale at Paul Cartwrights in Bolton.
Not sure of the spec but it was a monster.

Trying to keep away from trailer set ups - I don't want the aggro of tachograph regulations. Been there and done that!!!!

do you need tacho stuff for trailer mounts?
also, thought id jump on this post and ask about belt driven pumps. my van mount is belt drive, do you just need the different gearbox/pulleys to make a pump belt driven?
-
Matt
Tachographs are a massive grey area.
If you tow anything commercially within 50kms of your trading or home address then no you do not need a tachograph.
If you are anywhere over 50 kms then yes you need a tachograph - but it is dependant on what you are pulling the trailer with.
With a car you have more chance of getting away with it but I know from personal experience and because VOSA told me directly that they target van trailer combinations because they know they generally do not have tachographs fitted!!
I can't answer the technical part of the question as I work on an attitude of 'if its broken it goes in for repair' and I don't need to know the finer details.
Cheers

Cheers Rob,
Didnt know the tacho stuff related to trailers. 50 miles is probably further than id be travelling at the moment anyways, but when i get another machine im gonna put my vanmount into a trailer, so its always good to know..
