I think the the vac motor in my machine is 1200w would it do any harm to put a 1500w motor in it.Cheers Ben
-
I thought your motors were guaranteed
What did Big Clean say
-
1500 w will be fine

couldnt afford to take the risk of it coming back a non warrenty job paying courier ect ect. This was explained by thebigclean to be fair to them.Just gonna do it myself.
3 bloody hours it took to get it out lol.Its a job ill have to do in the future so it was good practice.
Just need to order the new part and fit it now.
wish me luck.cheers lads Ben :)

Changing a vac motor on a Powrflite 1350 takes me around 15 min's.
thats working at a leisurely pace.
-
It gets easier each time mate, just a job to know what goes were really..

If you are using the pattern motors there is no earth wire, make sure you fit new gasket, do not over tighten the bolts as you can cause damage to the motor.

oops forgot to order the gasket ::)
£69 delivered ;D If it lasts 6 months thats longer than the one that came with the machine
£260 i got quoted from one place.NO TA. >:(

£260!! to be fair i got rip off once, nearly £600 for two vac motors fitted in a Steampro :'( that'll never happen again!!
Do you still have the old vac? dont throw it away. Send it back to the place you bought it from and get them to check it out. They might send you a new one under warrenty then you'll have a spare.
Lamb vacs are rated to 500 hours, if your not getting that out of it (hard to tell as i dont think your machine has an hours counter??) then its either faulty or your doing something wrong i.e. not ventilating the waste tank and sucking in alot of foam << these are the two main causes. But even then, the motor should last a good couple hundred hours.

The motor lasted 30 hours tops as the machines had very little use.The old vac i took out looks brand new.Iv got a friend whos gonna have a look at it and see if he can do anything with it.
The bolts at the bottom of the machine had three nuts missing and the other was loose meaning it might not havebeen venting properly.
iv spent a good couple of hours in the machine so it was good experiance.
Thing is my main job is a window cleaner.I do a couple of carpet jobs a week to break things up a bit just getting back what i payed for my gear is going to take long enough without paying out for things like this.
Anyway all sorted now so fingers crossed should be trouble free for a while.
cheers ben
