I got one and I love it, best advice i can give is try some of the other fibre glass heavier poles with a vikan brick on the end, then buy one of these.......champion. ;)
-
Tapered glass fibre is lighter than the CLX but I agree about the vikan :'(

Strengths:
Stiff
Light
Strong
Weaknesses:
You'll get carbon dust ingrained into your fingers if you don't wear gloves.
Some people seem to suffer clamp glue failure - not me though
One of the clamp levers on mine broke (yesterday. One of the few items I don't have a spare for!)
I'd never consider anything else as a day-to-day pole, to be honest, except possibly the 22 or 25ft versions.
As to the cost, look at it this way, even if it only lasted a year it'd be under a quid a day.

Vin,they're talking about clx's,not slx's!

I knew that. To get that wrong I'd have to be a total idiot. Oh yes. Oh yes, indeed.

a few extra quid its a ton more lol ;D
-
I m gonna try get my hands on a 18 foot clx in the next batch
However for a larger pole ie 27/35 foot , are the clx's still worth whiile or should i just get full carbon?
the elite looks good , 35 foot slx is steep £££
-
dont bother with the clx go straight to the slx
-
even at 18 foot?
-
slx 18ft 185 + vat
clx 18ft 85 + vat
im not saying the clx is as gud as an slx
but the price does it for me ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
At 18ft dont bother just go for the clx if your on a budget..
-
its a cracking pole at that price
an does a lot of my work

That old van of yours most have killed you then Gavs ;D

its not a matter of cost - I already have 4 SLX 25's (one for each of us) along with a 55ft SL-2 and a couple of old 17ft xtels (which are done now) so its only really to replace these xtels which are only used for low work (bungalows with the odd 1st floor gable window thrown in)
