just starting to change the vac in my powrflite.having a few access issues.any tips ::)
-
If its a 1350 empty it completely and stand it upside down on its waste tank lid.
-
cheers matey,do i need to remove the copper coils
-
iv undone all the nuts from the top.Still seems well in no play.are there more nuts underneath? :)
-
do i just have to persuade it off its rubber gasket?
-
Yes from my experience ( I have a CFR) if you've taken all the bolts off, then the gasket will be stuck to the body. I just use a flat head screwdriver to prize it off gently.

cheers adam.when i say all the bolts all from above the vac.Do you no if there are any to undo underneath?
-
sorted mate cheers. This thing really is a pile of junk.Three nuts missing from the bottom board holding everthing in place.thanks for the advice :)

Some hang on j-hooks. There is quite a lot of variations. They are constantly changing the mountings and the motor spec.
Did you get a new gasket with your vac to fit.

thats it matey j clips holding the copper coils inplace.Been a pain to get off.Managed it though :)
havent got the new motor yet.Wanted to get the old one off first to make sure i get the right one to put back.
The rubber seal on this one looks fine but will order a new one anyway :)

Ben, I had the same problem. A few weeks from new, the two nuts holding my van in place came right off. It's the so called 'locking nuts' they use are useless. I bet you have the same as mine as CFR and Powrflite are made by the same company i think. What I do now is use a spring washer between the washer and nut to add friction, and then cover the end of the bolt in rubber sealer. They haven't come loose since.
I'm not a fan of american made ::)
