Title: Prochem PH confusion?
Post by: Russ Chadd on May 23, 2011, 05:25:45 pm
Hi

It was my understanding that if i were to pre spray with lets say Multi pro which has a PH of 10.5, then you would use a rinse like Fibre and fabric which stabilises the PH level back to around 7 on the scale?

So what im confused about is if i were to pre spray with lets say Multi pro (PH 10.5) and then use Extraction plus in the tank of my extractor (PH 9) the PH level of the carpet is still going to be around 9?

Does this matter on a synthetic carpet or are we just interested in stabilising natural fibre?

Cheers

Russ

It depends if your line of thinking is alkaline residue attracts dirt . My opinion is not if you use the products at the dilution ratio given , why would they make an alkaline rinse agent if it was going to cause such problems . As you say as a rule you would neutralise with acid rinse on wool or stay neutral throughout.
