I have been WFP for 5 years now and still have some of my poles I started with.
The longest is a 35 foot yellow Ionics monster which I use for large jobs. My regular one is a 24 foot facelift which has been great but a bit whippy fully extended.
I could do with ONE regular pole that will reach 35 feet but that can be used for everyday regular house use.
I'm not up on the new models and would like to know if there is one on the market that will double up for me.
Price is not an issue at the moment. I simply want advice on the best multi use pole.
Thanks

There is only one pole to use, the slx from gardiner pole systems. But my advice would be, do yourself a favour and get 2 poles, a 35ft super max for the high stuff and a 18 or 22ft slx for everyday

i have a Elite 35 which i find great carbon fibre pole light and easy to use well built clamps really easy to extend and collapse , only had mine a few days and i have been using as 30ft with 35ft reach , working 7hr shifts i find i can use it all day no bother , you can take sections off in seconds with very little adjustment to clamps , i have taken 2 sections of mine now as i dont have any high level work left to do this month , and used it yesterday as a 25ft just cant belive how light it is , i found it easy to use cleaning 3 storey townhouses at 35ft extension , it felt really rigid with just a small amount of flex ideal for scrubbing
The only thing i dont like about the elite is the base cap its to small and thin i dont think it will do its job so i have placed a squash ball on end of mine which is more robust and fits any which ever section with a bit of manipulation
-
Squash ball is innovative, dont think I have heard of that one :) does it push in or have you holed it to go outside the pole ?
-
you cut the top of jeff then either drill a suitable size hole , as i have done cut a ragged star shape in the bottom which helps prevent dirt from been dragged up into pole via hose, so you dont have clean pole hose as often , but you will need to extend and collapse pole a few times just to make sure the hose does'nt catch when collapsing pole , Before you go out to work with it .
fits on like a base cap in the usual way , its about 3mm of thick rubber so works well as base cap

I have a 30ft slx which is a good pole but expensive, but for most run of the mill work I use my Harris pole which only costs £15 and is more than adequate for most jobs, in fact it is quicker if you use it the way I do.. !! :)
-
Thanks pro, I use outside the pole silicon hose and was interested in using the ball as a base protector as the base dont half scratch cars of its unprotected, I have an RS cap but looking for something different, now where did I put that squash ball err did I/will I ever play squash, thanks, :D

I've been using slx's for the past 3 years and they are brilliant, I've just upgraded to the slx extreme, the 25 with an extension will give you a 35ft reach. It is the most rigid pole and lightest pole around. If money really was no object then I would say go for the extreme. The only time I build up a sweat now is when I reel in.

I like your video sherwood!! Not sure why, but it made me laugh!!! ;D

Get the SLX-35 with carbon gooseneck & extreme brushes,... you can't beat that combo.

You should see my other videos. ;D
Sunshine an slx 35 would be easier to use than a facelift 24 due to the short closed length. I know a few that use it as an every day pole.

have a look at an elite 35ft but be warned most suppliers have now sold out sure clean systems have them but they are based in ireland and they are wanting you to add extras in order to purchase online
-
the smax 40 is a brilliant pole
you wont go wrong there .

Checked out your other vids Simon, I like them all.. but the one with the voice over is definately my favourite!!! The piano lessons were good too, I showed my son as he's learning to play! :)

;D That and the comedy voice over make this the best window cleaning video I've ever seen!! well done Simon!!! ;D ;D

Glad you like it, it was modelled on retro 80's style information broadcasts. At least now I know why my wife always laughs at me.
Sunshine, I would recommend getting the 18 as well as using a smaller pole for smaller jobs will save you so much time and strain. The slx range is light and rigid, but my motto is why carry around extra weight if you don't need to.

My facelift all in is 2.4kg with brush and everything.
The 35' yellow monster is................
....................6.2kg Think it may be time to retire it!!

What is the pole made out of lead?
-
It's the old yellow fibreglass ond a bit of a beast.
8 foot sections but the bottom section broke and is 5 foot.
I presume you mean the 40 foot supermax as there isn't a 35 foot one.
Think this may be my solution along with an 18' regular.
Just under £900 for both so it's in budget.
Thanks

YOUR GONNA NOTICE ONE HELL OF A DIFFERENCE PAL!when you get some lighter poles! ;D ;D ;D
i would recommend a 22ft clx or slx as your everyday run of the mill domestic pole.the lightness and short closed lengths of these poles will be like nothing you ve experienced before!!the 22ft will allow you to reach over most flat roofs and connies as i think the 18footer will come up short on a few jobs which will be really annoying having to go back to the van for another pole!they are still very light!
i also have a 25ft SLX which is great which is used on bigger domestics/commercial and awkward flat roof/extension accounts.
as for a bigger pole ive not got anything bigger than a 25footer but you wont go wrong with any of the carbon gardiner range IMO.
A 22ft clx/slx with aqua-daptor and extreme brush will blow you away for a regular domestic pole and youll never use the facelift again thats for sure!!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

I think my first purchase will be to replace the 35' monster.
I'm thinking of the 40' Supermax from Gardiners then replace the everyday pole later.

Good choice.

I think I must have missed them tonight so will have to call tomorrow.
What delivery time should I expect from Gardiners?

Looks like they are now out of stock!!
Have one on pre-order for June.
Now have to decide about the everyday one. I think the 18' will be a little short.

I think it will. I've used a 25ft slx for my everyday pole for about 4 years now. I use a swivel though & this allows me to do any window at any angle even in the smallest amount of space.
I would go with the 22 or 25ft slx personally. ;)

Thats the conclusion I've come to. I'll get a bit more life out of my facelift and put my name down for a 22 slx in the next few months.
Thanks for your input.

Why don't you cut the sections of your facelift down a few inches, make it more managable & smaller closed length?
