Title: Vyair Pump
Post by: outdoor restore on May 21, 2011, 03:18:00 pm
I have just replaced one of my sureflow pumps with a 7L vyair.  I am trying to run it with a varistream and 100m of 6mm microbore.
When connected to the microbore, pump runs for a few seconds and then stops for a few seconds and starts again and continues like that (when stopped varistream flashes p).  Flow from brush is very little.  Disconnecting the microbore, the pump seems to run fine. Have bypassed the pressure switch on the pump but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
Have played about with the settings on the varistream but doesn't seem to make any difference.
Anybody running a vyair with microbore and varistream successfully, if so please help.  Also welcome any suggestions.
Have emailed vyair but obviously won't get a response till Monday and could do with sorting it for then.
Many thanks
Neil

I've not read them properly, but Lee GLS looks like the expert here.

I don't have the varistream on mine, I have the digital flow controller, so I don't know how they work, bit it sounds like a problem with the settings, on mine it has a calibration setting, perhaps yours has a similar setting.

It will be something to do with the pressure building up and the controller thinking it needs to turn the pump off, it will need the pressure setting uping on the controller, or maybe the flow setting turning down as it's quite a high flow pump you have, I run the 5L pump

Thanks gents.

Lee I will have another play with the settings tomorrow, and also try it without the varistream.

Craig is that right? even when running through a controller at less than full flow?

Try turning the flow down, if you were running a 4 or 5l pump before then the setting that you had it on will be to high for this pump as it's a 7l one.

When I called them they said it would be a couple of weeks, it's probably worth calling them.
