Title: How much hose on your trolley?
Post by: Seymour Sunshine on May 20, 2011, 05:03:56 pm
For most of my jobs (and I only ever do domestic) I find that 10 meters is quite enough hose. I have to move the trolley from front to back, but it's hardly ever a problem.

I have a 20 meter hose on a reel, but only ever use it for one job.

(I know that some helpful people will get into the chant about van mounts and 100 m of microbore being better - and they might well be, but that isn't the question on this particular thread.)

I have 10 metres and it's not enough. My life would be easier on almost every job with 30 metres. For example the ones where you go through the house. But just about every job really.

On the van mount subject, on lots of my jobs, a van mount would be awkward because of parking issues.

Get 50 metres or more on a normal reel. Unload trolley from vavn/car and leave it there, just unreel your hose like any van-mount guy does.

That's my plan, but leave trolley in van when not needed.

i have 40m on mine.10 m minibore that came with the trolley and 30m of 5mm extension hose from pure freedom(streamline 5)good hose.

i can clean 3 compact houses before moving the trolley.also it comes in handy when i use it as a mini van mount.

Yes. Thanks guys. This is starting to make a bit of sense.

I could leave my 10 m on the trolley and just have a 50 m reel in the van for a few jobs.

And maybe even make up a hose to extract from 2 or more barrels or even a small tank. Hmmmm .. the thinking juices are flowing now.

i use about 30m of yellow pole hose on mine i just loop it around the handle, i also can leave it in the van and 30m is still enough on most jobs, if not i plug it into 120m of micro bore on a reel, i use remote as on an off,

The longer the hose the less pushing around of the trolley you have to do
