Title: woolsafe certified??

Anyone got a woolsafe certificate?where is the course,how much?do you think it is worth it?

Personally found I was paying to display a logo nothing else really,no extra work from it same as the NCCA,some will say it adds creditability to your business but market yourself correctly and it makes no difference imo. Attend the course you will learn something.

You can have all the certificates going but its satisfied customers that count

If you do high end work I think the idea of showing you are woolsafe is a definate plus point, you will learn stuff like steve says BUT.. I wouldn't bother.

What are they telling you? Wool is a sheeps hair and you need to treat it softly, use only our products and you can sleep sound at night.

The reality is, in the real world, half the sheep carpets you will clean are shagged and you will be there all day and still have a poo result if you stay 'woolsafe'


Also when they endorsed certain Vanish products they lost all credibility in my eyes.

Woolsafe is a nice idea though whoever came up with it. ;)

Best thing to do is get carpet samples a DO YOUR OWN tests long term. And use common sense, ie theres no need to use caustic on a nearly new wool berber.  ::)

How is it that some domestic 'stain removers' are woolsafe certified and yet still take the colour out??

It is a family run business.

Somewhere within the last 12 months this was discussed on here and one of the guys from 'Woolsafe' came logged on to defend his corner. Fair enough to him for doing so but he didn't get anything like an understanding from us 'end users.'

But Wynne sumed it all up perfectly.

Woolsafe was a good idea when it first came out, but now I think they have lost the plot, especially by endorsing products like Vanish.  >:(

We have founder member status or whatever they call it.

The recent newsletter shows that they are making worthwhile connections with retail outlets that will help to educate the customer about the benfits of annual cleans etc.

Both us and an Edinburgh contractor have extremely good hotel maintenance contracts off the back of membership.
