Thinking of upgrading your cold water system to a hot water sytem? Go gas!!!! Diesel will cost you up to £10 per day where as gas will cost you £10 to £15 per week!!!!!!!!!.
Slap some gas warning stickers on the side of the van (making sure you have the right fixture for securing the cylinders ( make sure you read the regs)) and bobs your uncle......

Red Diesel is still available for non-road use, quite legal and about 50p per litre.
Failing that use Heating Oil.

x line are working on a system that works from the vans cooling system, some sort of heat exchange unit, completly free to run. fully fitted about £1000 i was told

That would essentially be a t-piece in one of the hoses at about £3.....

I"m diesel and it costs nothing like that, are you talking about a certain set up or are you generalizing?
-
I use purefreedom hot 9kw heater prob costs around 5 quid a day at a push. Not tempted by gas at all. ;D

Lee where do you get the figure of £10.00 per day ??? I've got a diesel fueled water heater and it costs nowhere near as much as that
-
I think on Pure Freedoms website they give a figure of one litre per hour for the two man system on full bore.

Unless you run the van engine whilst you are working I do not see how this would work!
At best it could produce luke warm water via a return to the tank whilst you are driving. Unless you are driving an hour or so to get to work, but then the pump could be damaged by running hot water through it.

im not sure how it works exactly but they said something about the heat exchange coil being in a vessal and it heats up 145 ltrs of water. I`d chat to xline about it for those who are interested

surely gas is the sensible option - no fumes.

i have a heat wave plumbed staight in to the fuel tank would not have it any other way ,never have to worry about running out of fuel ,no extra space taken up in my van ,i would defo recommend going diesel ,if you are full on with your round then dont worry about a few extra quid to run it,i dont even notice the extra cost
