Been thinking about these 60 quid valves and was thinking that you need to hold the pole hose anyway so would a simple stop start ball valve cheap as chips not work as good with less to go wrong and simply add a small lightweight ball valve onto the section of pole hose that sits between the top of pole and the y piece so for downstairs it is easyer to get to to stop start the flow as the valve sits directly under the brush head simples
-
I'll order 2. How much per unit? :-)
-
It sounds like a fannying about method; just work with an external pole hose and nip a bit when you want the water to stop. ;D
-

Yeah but that's no good for upstairs is it because you have to turn it on before extending the pole wasting alot water
-
A back pack user I can understand but for the life of me I can't fathom this extreme need for a van mount user to stop water flow between windows etc?
Just have a water stop connector on the end of your minibore for when you could actually save any water like when moving from front to rear of house.
-
You use two valves one at the base of the pole for on off switching upstairs put pole up open valve flow starts clean window close valve next top window open valve at base of pole again flow starts clean window this time switch to downstairs so leave valve open quickly drop pole and turn top valve on gooseneck off saves water open valve clean window shut valve move to next window open valve on gooseneck clean window and so forth once stop close the base valve and leave the gooseneck valve open to begin next house upstairs I thiink it would deffo be easyer for downstairs switching with the same benifits and none of the drawbacks like expense functionality ie aquadapter continually seizing from what I hear and weight and added length just a bit of common sense needed to know what valves to open and close at what times

But surely with such quick on/off times all you are doing is allowing pressure to build up in the system which then just spurts out on opening the valve? Thus not actually saving any water. Even a finely tuned Varistream takes a good few seconds to cut off once the flow is stopped.

be alot easier to use Jeff Brimble's method

I've had three tries at reading that and run out of breath and the will to live each time. Have you never used full stops or sentences.

Ye you are right about the van mount but this water saving stuff is quite clearly aimed at backpack users and trolly and smaller tank users where water saving is an issue I am only trying to come up with an alternative to something that in my mind is overpriced for a valve and clearly still in testing and not the finished product able to stand up to the everyday use that is demanded of it if you want to throw away 60 quid on something that lasts 3 month soo be it it doesn't matter how good the customer service is a product ready for market has to live up to the use it was intended for or you are just going in circles product breaks then replaced how long do you think that they will be able to keep up the constant recall of products this is what brodex done with poles under there guarantee and quickly revised it due to the huge losses they were incurring so believe me when I say the bubble will burst. Personally I just pinch the hose as it is simple and I don't have to worry about saving water as I have access to thousands of litres a day. so thinking about it pinch the hose do away with the base valve at bottom of pole when the pole is up you have to have the hose iin your hand with the aqua dapter anyway to turn flow on off so may as well just pinch hose and just turn flow tap on the gooseneck for downstairs water saving or indeed just pinch hose again at base of pole it costs nowt doesn't add weight to your pole won't add unwanted length and won't break leaving you to have to constantly send back and wait for a new one to arrive in which during this time you will prob pinch the hose anyway come on save yourself money and do away with the stress and pinch on my fellow wfpers
-
U can stop the water, but not a sentence. ;D
-
As for the punctuation and grammar comment I am using a blackberry phone for access to the forum just nw and can't be arsed holding alt etc and was being lazy but last time I looked this wasn't a classroom and your input on here at most is prob one sentence stuff so you stick to that my friend as you are prob a lot more experienced than me judging by your post count
-
Says you with your all of 20 posts
-
Ah dave you don't get around much that's your problem. But your post count is also impressive with over have I seen right 2000 something posts I would in no way ever contemplate commenting negatively in response to a ciu god like yourself must of taken you weeks on here to amount to such god like status I bet you are proud
-
I especially liked your intellectual input on this thread what was it again that's right "LOL!" A great quote and help to many I'm sure. keep up the quality, ciu is lucky to have you.
-
No, it was more than LOL actully
-
Zeusweiler, when replying with a blackberry, if you press space twice where you want a full stop you won't have to press alt-m.
Not criticising, just trying to help
-
Zeus.
You need to relax a bit mate.
If you weren't so 'lazy' with your bb input skills then the comments you made would have been read with more interest by many.
You will generally find that most people on here who have a pop at others will not get many replies to even serious and worthwhile suggestions. My point about the sentences was a valid one and some found it amusing. You need to see a bit more of the funny side on here or it will eat you up and spit you out ;D
-
Thank you paul I wasn't. Aware of that. And it works, will save me a lot of time. thanks again mate.
Spongebob, what you have to understand mate is that I have been around here for years but very rarely post on this forum due to stuff like that.
I see it all the time!. People are to interested in peoples spelling, and grammar and having a go to even bother about the topic. A complete waste of my time. So I have come to the realisation that it's just not worth getting involved on here.
A shame as most of the people on here have a lot of valid input and a lot is covered in a short space of time
"Yes!" I will hold my hands up and state I was not the best at english at school, and "yes" last night I was lazy. If you take a look back up the topic you will find that it was indeed you that had a pop at me off topic, and only then did I respond.
So as far as the forum consuming me and spitting me out. I don't really care!, and will not be drawn into this as you can see by my post count that I chose not to get to involved on here. I will simply use this forum as a tool to keep me up to date and communicate with suppliers as I think this is the best place to do so
I would like to state that I am indeed very sorry to all parties involved and did not mean to cause real offence by my comments as they were meant to be taken in humour and am sorry for acting out of haste as I feel we all got off on the wrong foot here
-
I found over the years that Zeus is indeed an unusual member being an employee who gives very good feedback in his free time, from that point of view he is almost a supplier in some ways and gives very sound and immpartial advice. He gets to play with a large variety of toys and tells us how it really is.Good on yer Zeus. 8) 8) 8)

I am sure it was Zeus also who done that fantastic and detailed piece on another forum all about using a 60 foot pole from beginning to end. Every word of it made perfect sense and no one could have written that without a whole lot of wfp experience behind them.
-
Yes it was zeus that did that after I asked about using a 40 footer for the first time, big glass fibre pole weighed a ton and the sections were massive
-
Once again the few have spoilt it for the many.
-
I've had three tries at reading that and run out of breath and the will to live each time. Have you never used full stops or sentences.

Glad someones got a sense of humour.

I had to be in bristol nice and early for a builders clean in and out. Right above Jamies new place on park street. I just love the way everyone's so friendly in bristol at that time of the morning...not. There was some graffiti on the wall round the back but I left it alone just in case ;D
