Hi all, I've seen a thread about this before, but can't find it anymore, question is, whats your opinion about the best method of cleaning coir ?, chemicals, techniques ? thanks in advance for comments.

RUN RUN RUN! Don't HWE inevitable it will shrink, Dry powder (host granuales or similar) agitate allow to dry then vacuum, you could VERY lightly and evenly mist with Nemisis or microsplitter prior to granules. Results will be limited explain this to your customer.
Personal opinion the stuff is a menace looks good for 6 weeks when new and then it's down hill, i'd follow AJB's advice ;D

;D Thanks guys, i has assumed it was gonna be a pain, so i got the customer ( my own head office) to rip it up, carpet tile and use barrier mats ,,,Heaven !

Dry powder , i did a rug like this with envirodri dirt came out well. stains not so well !

if you are referring to the rubber backed coir entrance matting then there is no problem using hot water extraction. You will however get a limited result as the product is designed with the criteria of removing dirt from your shoes rather than on ease of cleaning. The product has a rubber backing so is dimensionally stable and will not schrink. after yeas of wear it will lose its athetics and will need replacing.

:) nice one kinver, but now we have lovely tiles and barrier mats, and oh, we 're just a tiny part of a much larger company, not a cleaning company as such, hehe, thankfully !
Thanks for all the advice chaps, will probably acquire a dry system, anyone got anything bad to say about an Envirodry ?
