Title: DRY CARPET CLEANING
Post by: lauren beattie on May 15, 2011, 08:33:30 pm
Hi all,

I am a self employed cleaner specialising in farm houses. I occasionally get customers asking if i will clean their carpets, i am not overly keen on buying a wet extraction machine as i don't have the space in my car and of course there is the cost.
I recently tried a product called zorb on my own carpets and i was impressed with the results, i just spread it on the carpet and brushed in with a nylon sweeping brush, left it a while and vaccumed with a 2000w vax upright.
I like the fact that the carpets are dry straight away and is environmentally friendly but would like to know, would this be an appropriate method to use on farmhouse carpets, the farmhouses are mostly just dirt and not really stains, i hear people from businesses say they would like their carpets cleaned but they need to be dry straight away so could gain some extra work if this method is as effective as it was on my carpet.

I personally don't want to carry around all sorts of machines, i looked at something called a sebo but seems to be just a vaccum and is not as powerful as something alot cheaper.

Any way, i would appreciate any comments or help on dry cleaning from any of you guys.

Thankyou
Lauren

find a reliable professional carpet cleaning company with the right set up and sub the work out, if your getting a lot of work then he'll cut you a deal so theres profit innit for both of you.

Hi Lauren

I have been EnviroDri for almost 8 years and have come across 1 carpet that was uncleanable, have used HWE recently for some upholstery.

Thanks for the replies,

I have read about envirodri and would like to try their products as many people like to use enviro friendly products and services now. Kids nurseries would be a good market as i have a friend who has a nursery and the carpets gets soiled daily but don't want or can't afford to have the carpets wet as they are constantly in use.

I feel most people want a quick, effective no hassle service. If you could pre treat (if thats a word) stains and dry clean it would be perfect for what i want to do and would keep the customers happy.

I am not too keen on sub contracting the work to others as i would like to earn the money (kids to feed etc..).
If i could do it the dry way that would be fine for me, it's easier for me and less hassle.

Their doesn't seem to be many views on using the carpet powder and vacuuming, i'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, just need a push forward really saying yes it works go for it.

I suppose wet cleaning and dry cleaning both have their advantages?

Thankyou
Lauren
