any use a normal car battery in line with a slit charger rather than an expensive leisure battery some one i know does says works fine and at 10 quid if it dies get another cheap
-
i use car batts no problem
-
got one last week as we put a second van on the road so i went for a car battery to fill the gap until i bought a leisure battery at first it went dead after 4 hours of work but as i kept recharging every night it now last all day so i will keep on using it till i need to change and then get the leisure battery as im not sure if i could run a two man operation on it
i think its worth getting one especially if your short for money/or need a stop gap

i have a 100amp lesure battery and only charge it every 3 weeks seems a lot easier. :)

nothing wrong wiv car batteries on a split charger
i power one pump and controller of van battery
then another pump n controller of another
battery in the back of van charger via split charger
works well for me n my lad
also if you want to spend money
on expensive deep cycle batterys
feel free ;)

must say i only do 6 miles a day so split charger does nothing feel i really need leisure battery

A car battery isn't designed to be slowly completely discharged and recharged (one cycle). It's designed to produce enough cranking power to start the engine depleting it by 10-20% and then immediately recharged to 100%. Average car battery will complete about 10-15 complete cycles before the plates disintegrate and it dies. A leisure or deep cycle battery usually lasts upto 1000 complete cycles but if not depleted by more than 25% in normal use that figure can be multiplied by 4. I've used an AGM (Absorbed glass mat) battery for the last 5 years but have just replaced it with a Submarine Battery which weighs about 60kg. Well at least nobody will nick it ;D
