friend of mine in that business once recommended a product called 'Strike', made by a company in Ormskirk, Lancs I think,  very powerful stuff !

for the grease on flat surfaces use a blade, the filters can a) be put through a commercial dishwasher if not too soiled or b) be put in a heated dip tank and left to soak whilst you are cleaning the hood, as for a good chemical, the grease should be quite loose and does come off with a standard de-greaser. You could also use optimum c from chemex although this is quite pricey.

Hope this helps

I use Vanquish from clover chemicals for canopies, filters, ovens etc.
Works well.

Hi Guys,

Do any of these chemicals not cause severe burns as the chemical we use at the moment does? And am looking for a safer alternative!!

Regards
Alan ;)

Hi Alan,

not to be taken the wrong way, but if you are following the correct proceedures and using appropriate PPE, none of the chemicals should present a problem, should they ?

They don't present a problem as PPE is used but as i said i am looking for a safer alternative ;)
Is that such a bad thing?

Alan

definetly not Alan,  if you come across something I would be intwerested to know ,  as anything thats just as effective but potentially less harmful to the operatives is always worth looking into, regards
