Has anyone got any ideas of how much sand would be needed to resand 800 square meters of block paving?

Twice as much as half the amount you would need.  ;)

Depends how big the joints are. Clay blocks then a lot more.

I would estimate if general blocks and nicely knit, 60 x 25kg.
