Post by: DASERVICES on October 04, 2005, 10:00:02 pm
 Hi,

Question for anyone with their website, do you think it's a worth while
 investment !

How much new custom do you get in a year ?
How much junk mail do you get ?
Is £100 a good price for a web site !

 Cheers

 Doug

Hi Doug,

Yes it's undoubtably a good investment.

You may not be able to quantify just how much business you actually get through a website. Having said that if you do have one it will work for you. Providing it's a well thought out one. Many people now look at websites before they ever contact a company. This is especially true with commercial customers. If you put your website address on any literature etc in these days of intenet usage a decent website is becoming more and more essential.

Junkmail...  we get none.

£100 a good price?  Depends on what you are getting for that.

Have a quick look at one of my sites

www.freedomwfp.co.uk

Cost a little more than £100  but not by much at all.

Hope this helps

Andrew

plenty of free "web site builder" type of app's on the net, plently of free hosts aswell (even if you want to pay, plenty which charge 5 - 10 quid a year)

just google for "website builder"

and then spend a evening using it and you'll be set

mine only comes in handy for people paying online with paypal or nochex :)

basic BUT does the job ;)

Thanks for your comments Andrew, not had much feedback about the site but had lots on enquires for quotes in the last 9 months.

I have added the website and email address to all of my payment cards, stationary and flyers. Seem to be getting more and more interest in the online payment options these days to.

No problem central  :)

You probably won't get much feedback from customers. However especially for marketing nowadays people will look at your website before contacting you. This is especially true for commercial. A good website does definately make a good impression. Yours has all the basics right. Not too cluttered. Very good navigation and gets your message over in a professional way. In a way if you like the potential customer has already made a decision to contact you with a good impression of your company.

Just had a look at my sites stats, No one ever really mentiones my site but I seem to have about 250 hits a month, Advetise it on all litt and any flyers I do plus on side of vehicle, I treat it as a full colour broucher, as with all advertising it is very hard to gauge what return you get from it.

Not a lot for free these days petski2 !!

If you're certain you wanna build it yourself, which for a basic site with the potential to build into something more generous is what I'd do, then I'd recommend microsoft frontpage possibly the training suite 2003 which is fairly easy to operate and generates a decent website.

Try E-Bay mate shouldn't cost you more than a score probably a lot less.
