-
Same as dave with that one..
-
Anyone provide a link to this stuff. How does it compare to say Prochem Odourfresh? Will the nice smell linger longer.
-
I use Florazol from Evans industries at about £9 for 500ml it ain't cheap but it's a quality product.
Today I had a delivery of Chemspec products which included Odour Killer something I've not used before so it'll be interesting to see how good that is.

Craftex Cotton fresh or NI 172

On your website it says your an NCCA member, if so then surely you would know about de odourizers ?.
Just what do they teach you these days ?
-
Thanks glynn good observation skills.....but which deodoriser mate?....I was merely seeking to gauge the preferred choice of you experienced professionals i aspire too...before i part with my hard earned cash to replace my current product... thanks for another hit on my webites though....

I did the NCCA course in August 2009 and dont recall being told what was the BEST de odouriser, which is basically what is being asked here.

is it just me or do sarccy comments re websites always come from people who arent showing one?
-
All deodorizers work different on different odours, some bettere than others on urine and so on.
I have found the best ones across the board are either Cotton fresh or Nemesis odour neutrelizer and i am really impressed with the NI172 especially for spraying 1 puff in each room after cleaning wool carpets it is very good

I did the NCCA course you learn the basics thats all, i have asked many times a question that i think i know the answer to, but i want advice from far more experienced guys in case they have a better suggestion from the many years of expereince they have, surely thats the whole point of a forum ::)

The point being that you say you have never used the stuff yet your website states
"2. Pre spray / Spot treatment / Deodorising (As standard) "
So surely you must know about it ?.
-
He is starting out and asked for a recommendation.
He doesn't state he is an expert in deodourising, merely that it is a service that he offers as standard.
Surely it is better to ask the opinion of those with experience before progressing with a product that those with experience would not touch with a barge pole.
With regard to the NCCA course, it is supposed to be impartial with regard to specific manufacturers and their products.

Glyn does have a point. If you go to Paul's website:
http://k2kleaning.co.uk/default.aspx
It does say on the carpet cleaning page:
2. Pre spray / Spot treatment / Deodorising (As standard)
Yet he stated in his question:
Recommendations please....new and never used the stuff on a job till now..
So how can he be using it as standard or has he never dont a job????
Also his company is not listed on the NCCA website :o
-
Dont a lot of cleaners use a bit of "poetic licence" on their web sites?
-
I think you've got to be honest, I think that is very important in business. Plus, you'd be surprised just how much people scrutinize your website, so if you say you are going to do something, like deosouriser as standard, you'd better do it or lose face.

guess its my turn to respond i suppose...
Thanks to all who have been kind in their recommendations and support...
It is a service i do as per the website.....i have been using a brand which i received free gratis...which is nearing the end and needs replaced..and being new i'm always seeking to try other brands etc.. (check out the previous comment where i said i'd found some in my garage enough to see me through this job)... so unfortunately MY FACE IS WELL N TRUELY INTACT (and still handsome) :D
Re NCCA get life! you checked my website then checked the NCCA....when you ring them tomorrow with my memebship number ask them to populate my details to their site as i'm still awaiting this to be actioned....it'll save me a call........pathetic...oh then have some big hairy things between ya legs and come back on here and comment ....to save your face
but to the others thankyou

Paul actually gives his membership number of the NCCA so i would have checked direct with the NCCA on the phone if i was that way inclined ::)
This is bloody silly, the guy obviosly wants to to it right, he's got some training, some dont bother !
he's asking questions for advice and he gets scrutinised and receives sarcastic comments, as they say if you cant say something positive, say nothing :-X
I admire the guys who still type pages of info to new starters in order to help them. they make the forum what it is.
but telling someone they "should know" stuff will only hurt the industry when some guy in frightened to ask through fear of ridicule and screws up a job because of it.
-
Paul,
Chill, man. As far as the NCCA thing is concerned, what would happen if a prospective customer went on your website and saw that you said you claimed to be a member of the NCCA and then went to their website, typed in your details and nothing comes up? Your credibility is shot straight away.
Obviously you are a member but they haven't updated their site so you should be giving them a hard time and thanking those that pointed out the discrepancy, which quite obviously you weren't aware of.

well he has got a point simon, checking his website then the ncca's site is a little over the top

Very well said Jim

ASA regs have quite rightly tightened in spring of this year re whats stated on web sites with very heavy financial penalties in place and persued, wo betied anybody who can't back up web site claims!
-
guys didn't mean to cause a storm in a tea cup from deodoriser to web sites to NCCA membership WTF!..
Those who were offering advice ... thanks .... i'll be going with N172 next..
Maybe my question was misleading in that i should have said "which one to buy next as i haven't bought as yet"...as i'm using what i was given to start up ... being on a limited budget...so when i buy next i'd like to try something else......hence asking the advice
Jim - you are dead right i'm trying to do things the right way...and was advised by someone everyone has probably heard of to join this forum....
Simon - No worries I know you meant well and checking to see if i,m a cowboy / fraudester etc.. whatever...i can assure you i am not but that isn't to say some on here aren't.....i'd be grateful for any advice you have in the future.....in the meantime mate which deodoriser???... ;)
Thanks
Paul

Just on the point of NCCA membership.... i could name and shame members of this forum who claim,,, on their websites....Trained by the NCCA the industry recognised .. blah de blah de blah....and aren't members...
They aren't members...and to state you have been trained by them (even though they may have been) without membership you can't use the words NCCA , that you've been trained by them or any other refernce to the NCCA... And to do so will lead to possible legal proceedings .....
when i call to have a rant regarding my deatils on their site i may just name drop a few guys on here who are abusing as per the above statement....and there are some so called senior member and cleaning gods doing it!...
But I wont... cos i'm just interested in what i do and that i do things right...

Cotton fresh smells fantastic!
-
blimey, it's like eastenders! :o
-
Paul,
If by deodouriser you mean just something to add to the solution to make it smell nice then I like Prochem's Odour Fresh, Hyramaster's MultiPhase and Craftex Lavender Fresh.
If you're looking to sanitizers then it is always good to have Urine Neutraliser and Clensan, both Prochem and also so Stain Pro which although not a santizer it is good on things like vomit and other protein based stains and have them on your van at all times because you will need them.
On the NCCA issue, if you were trained by the NCCA but are no longer a member, you can quite legitimately say that simply because it is true, as long as you don't imply that you are still a member.

My personal preference is Chemspec KILL Odor Plus.
The fact it's an Encap, tlc, deo does it for me.
I don't like perfumed deodorisers. Kill Odor Pluus just smells efficient.
