Title: First night back out collecting
Post by: LWC on May 06, 2011, 07:38:36 pm
Well, i gotta say, it went well. Got most me money in from this week which is nice as i usually have to wait 14 - 30 days (sometimes more) before i see it!

Had a few chats with customers which was nice to catch up. 1 person was out, i can live with being down £12 rather than a few hundread!

Collecting is defo for me, was nice to get out of house actually and a bugling wallet in pocket is telling me same thing.

collecting gives you a chance to see the custies a quick chat and away
i think if you have a more personnel relationship with the custie they are less likely to hang on to your money
i try and and collect every 3 rd clean and get payment posted in between
seems to work

I mentioned to a few that Friday nights will be collecting night from now on and that payments were getting slow and they were saying "thats awful its your income"

Well just saying its worked for me this week  :) thats all. Taken some worry off my mind.

i have some very compact work(around 150 houses virtually all right next to each other)on one part of my round.its easy to collect and prices are pretty low(between £5-£15).

on commercial i leave a SAE or get paid on the day.various stand alone accounts are SAE.some bank transfers.i good mix.

to me i have no problem with collecting as it only works out at around an hour a week over the course of a month.

keeps the cashflow good plus it keeps you in touch with customers.remedy any little problems and i pick  up more work!

customer rapport is very important on domestic IMO.also more chance the customer will stick with you when another window cleaner comes knocking on their door!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
