To Any Child’s Parents
I once heard a great educator say that it would take the average grade one school teacher about 25 years to undo much of the damage that has been done prior to a child entering school. Every thought, word and action surrounding an infant contributes to the child's sub-conscious programming. This programming or conditioning ultimately determines the direction that the child's life will take.
Here is a magnificent poem that I will share with you, entitled "TO ANY CHILD'S PARENTS" which brings the importance of the subject to mind.
There are little eyes upon you
And they're watching night and day;
There are little ears that quickly
Take in everything you say.
There are little hands all eager
To do everything you do;
And a little child who's dreaming
Of the day they'll be like you.
You're the little person's idol;
You're the wisest of the wise.
In their little mind, about you
No suspicions ever rise.
They believe in you devoutly,
Hold all that you say and do,
They will say and do in your way,
When they're grown up, just like you.
There's a wide-eyed little person
Who believes you're always right;
And their ears are always open
And they're watching day and night.
You are setting an example
Every day in all you do;
For the little person who's waiting
To grow up and be like you.
None of us are perfect. There are many areas in our lives that we can improve upon. We should keep in mind that as we improve our thoughts and actions, we are also passing on something of value to our children.

I agree to a certain extent... but I think that everyone is an individual, and what I say or do is not necassarily going to determine or influence what my son will become or do when he is an adult. Its the whole nature nurture debate, I think a bit of both is involved.

Very nice poem, I enjoyed it and will use it again without a doubt.
The question has got to be asked, are you on the booze tonight or did you just have a sudden urge to put that lovely piece on a window cleaning forum?
Dean.

For your information, I don’t drink any kind of drink which can damage my beautiful mind, and if you notice from my face book that I study human potential. :)

Reading inspirational stuff is inspirational, but it should inspire you to do more than just read inspirational stuff, otherwise it's a waste of time, and you'll still end up giving the dog a kick.
That's been my experience.

It's not enough to want to change. It's not enough to need to change. You've got to change to experience change.

Little eyes are watching
and I am a good dad
Encourage them to go W.F.P
instead of going trad
Tell him to be a man
and get expensive toys
and look like a professional
instead of those cowboys
If he says thats not a good example
and you have made me very sad
tell him you was never wanted and your not really his Dad
;D ;D ;D ;D
