Title: Builders Clean Sunday
Post by: Mike_G on May 05, 2011, 06:18:17 pm
How much extra would you guys want for working on a sunday? Got to put a price in on a shop in town which should take a couple of hours but it has to be done on Sunday, so just wondering would you charge time and a half, double etc etc

Double time. They are making demands for your free time so charge them for it.

It's good that you don't want it as someone who doesn't charge 100% more than normal will probably get the job ::)

Stuff that, I do agree with your statement Dean but I'll enjoy myself much more at home than at work on a sunday. Money isn't everything that's true, but time is precious and I aint wasting my sundays unless i'm getting well paid for it! Sunday is family time, so unless they pay me enough to treat the family, i'll be at home. Put the price in now anyway, very unlikely to get it i reckon.

The work in all honesty is not that bad, few bits of paint here and there and quite a few stickers but as with all builders cleans you have to allow for the little extra bits that crop up. Told the woman i didn't really fancy it but if she couldn't find anyone to do it then I would for £75. Couple of hours work I reckon so as it's Sunday work, why not. Seems she already had a quote for £20 so in the words of the dragons 'i'm out'. It's going to take 2 hours minimum so good luck to whoever got it, and I for one will not be to unhappy to be having a lie-in on Sunday morning.
