Title: Rainwater harvesting questions
Post by: AuRavelling79 on May 05, 2011, 05:20:27 pm: I'm building a rainwater harvesting system next week - do you just let the water straight into your holding tanks from the gutter downpipes or do you filter out debris in some way beforehand?

off down pipe into my tanks then runs into a an aquarium filter sponge
before it gets into my barrels.

normally i get between 0 and 3ppm

well thats when it rains!! :-\ :-\

the tds varies can sometimes be 2 and other times over 30 ::)

i use filters in the gutters which should be changed weekly really ,but i dont :)

then if you look at one of the last photos ,the blue box that contains various filters and they are all

gravity fed.

when the tds is high i pump it through the ro then using a cheap £30 pump of ebay.
