A local trad window cleaner whose computer illiterate (Simon G for the local lads) is thinking about going van mounted. He was telling me that he was looking at an Ionics brochure and would buy the starter package at £3,500 to go inside any van he bought.
Gosh that made me larf. I told him for the price of a chinese takeaway (Menu C for four people), he could come round my house with his bank card and I'll order all the stuff he needs and show him how to fit it together.
All at a fraction of the £3.5K Ionics gear; top spec Gardiner poles included.
The only people I can imagine who buy Ionics gear is window cleaners with more credit than sense.

In my experience they target a lot of window cleaning virgins and sell them on the idea of a whole new start up business rather than just buying kit for an existing business.

I have been using this forum since 2003 and they were here then, along with Brodex. some very shameful postings back then.
Put me off both companies and have never bought anyting from either as a result.
-
Brodex too eh? I hadn't noticed that one.
BTW Jason has gone very quiet hasn't he? Mind you I think he can't sleep - he was active on this forum before 6 am. I hope the guy comes up and convinces us of a sea-change in Ionics. ;)
-
Jason, yes, good old Jason. We had some laughs together me and him. Driving round the ring road.

the days of the brodex/ ionics spats where great.
i loved using a forum where you would get threats of legal action.
there where plants then, people who claimed they where nothing to do with a company and threatened to sue me if i claimed it. wish i had took him up on it as his face book page says when he started there.
i miss it ..........not

i always thought this forum was full of plants
loads of cabbages and the odd brussel sprout here and there! ;D

Jason Mawlam's post of 7.19.55pm May 4th 2011 has been changed - the admission that his company's employees had pretended to post on here as users has been completely altered.
Too many of us saw it for them to deny it and the mods know it has been changed.

From this
Yes, that did happen some time ago and I apologise on behalf of the company for that.
But that's not me and it's not not how anyone in our company operates any more.
Honesty is the best policy.
to this
In the early days of CIU there were a few occasions where genuine questions about Ionic products were raised by members here, and answers where given by other members that were incorrect. This was innocent enough, and members gave what they thought was the right answer, but unfortunately wasn't.
On one or two of those occassions, someone here at ionic wanted to answer with the correct information, but at the same time didnt want to appear to be "pushing" product and so joined up simply to answer those questions.
As time went on, and more and more Ionic system owners joined CIU, there became more members who actually owned and knew about how our products worked, and so were able to answer questions from their own experience. That being the case, there was no longer any need for someone from Ionic to answer those questions.
This was all before my time with Ionic, and the people who actually were involved in this have not been with the company for some years. As some may know, my dad used to post on here many years ago, but found he got drawn into lots of arguments, often with other suppliers, and so made a decision to leave the forums for good. That is the extent of our involvement in CIU to date, and as things advance I see more and more genuine questions about our products, and again sometimes incorrect information is given. The only reason that I comment here is to present the correct information about our products,
I guess the later was ran through the Ionics P.R machine.
Honesty is the best policy..

Ah those were the days the brodex/ionics/omnipole spats.
Legal threats were never more than 6 clicks on a keyboard away and I should know having had to reason over the phone with one of these why legal action was going to be an expensive waste of everyones time.
So the idea that Ionics have 'moles' on here is nothing new, all that changes is the user name ;D
