Hi guys, im just wondering has anyone got a flyer or know where i can download one that explains what WFP is and does, as ive been out trying to get some business for when i start and i am getting alot of questions asking about it but thought it may be better to have a small leaflet to give or to even add into my next lot of flyers so people will understand a bit better, then i might not get that "will my windows be wet, and why.and how does it work questions.cheers peeps.Ian ;D

Forget getting involved with the technicalities of how you are going to clean their windows.
The idea is to get customers first. Don’t bother to get involved with the system you are going to use to accomplish that service – that is up to you. If you provide clean windows then it’s your right to expect payment as agreed – simple.
If you are going to leaflet then you need something simple.
When you go door knocking, do the same. If they ask for a price, give them one, agree a cleaning schedule, get contact details and then thank them for their business. Take your leave. Don’t go into details about your cleaning method.
We had to explain our system years ago when it was new technology, but it’s an accepted method of window cleaning now. If they have an issue let them bring it up. Don’t go giving them excuses to dump your service before you have started.
If they are looking for a trad cleaner and you use WFP then that’s it. Thank them and move on. Don’t waste your time trying to change their minds. There are plenty more customers out there.

As someone said to me recently; tell them it doesn't matter if you rub their windows with the top of your head as long as you leave them clean. That's what you're being paid for.

why u getting asked, u must be saying someing for them to want to know, just agree a price give a business flyer with contract details on and move on to next house, plan on being there less than 2 mins
if they still want to know, i say
do you know when u wash ur dishes the plates shine, that stuff that cleans plates attracts dirt and thats why a lot of trad wc say u need ur windows cleaned ever week or 2, but this is pure water there is nothing in the water to attract dirt so no dirt sticks to windows, then on first clean, clean like hell and rinse loads,
if they are still wondering just say
tell you what, i will clean your windows and show you the results, as seeing is believieng

I enjoyed that. As window cleaners we begin as salesmen with a service to sell. Trouble is there are good salesman and bad salemen. The service we offer maybe exactly the same, but its easy to talk too much, and end up talking ourselves out of the sale.
The moment you tell a new customer that it will take 2 or 3 cleans before the windows are perfect you are asking for trouble in our experience. They will begin looking for faults. What happens if their windows take a little longer to become good? What happens if they always streak with white spots even after 3 or 4 years? If you get too involved, you will put a hole in your own boat and spent the rest of your time bailing water.

I have a customer who I have cleaned for the last 4 years, and they have often commented when we collect on a Friday evening how they are always so clean when they have been done. Last year was the first time she had ever seen me clean her windows as she was at home that day.
She was horrified that I washed the windows and left them wet.
It took a few moments to explain that I have always done it this way and she is always delighted with the results - trust me, I'm not doing anything different today. I never went into any explanation how the system works or what's involved. Just said that she should pretend she wasn't there that day and we would collect on Friday as usual.
All she knows is that I wash her windows with water and they are spotless, but when she tried with water, she was left with lots of spots. Jobs still mine - I've got magic water.

When people ask me how/why it works, I answer with this -
"would you like the in depth technical explanation or are you happy to believe it is magic water?"
They usually go for magic water.

i must admit i get carried away with the techno bit have noticed if i say"it may take a few cleans to get them up to standard/you may have a few spots first few cleans" you tend to get the "well do the first one and we will see how it goes" (which makes me think i the just want a one off clean)
so i think spruce is right,give them the price ,clean like mad and face the questions later

Thanks for replys guys, i suppose i was just thinking that if anyone asked i could just pass them a leaflet or similar to save the hassle.I really like the "magic water" one. Your right spruce, i think i will just get out there and offer the service without getting stuck into all the ins and outs of wfp.Looking forward to getting out there now.Jacob, im in great Torrington area.Thanks again peeps.Ian ;)

I remember once after having gone into the whole explanation of how the system works, the customer took a look at the finished clean and said,
"Whatever you put in your water works wonders."
I just replied, "Its not what we put in, it's what we take out that counts."
Lesson learnt.
