Bumper, I have just about been cleaning windows for half the time you have, but in places where I have compact work and have been there for a number of years, I'm always a little wary of taking on new customers who I know have seen us working there month-in-month-out for years.
I always wonder why - all of a sudden - they want us to clean their windows? So I'll ask them. Sometimes the customer will just say they're getting too old to clean their old windows, or their husband has died/left and he used to do them. Or other times it's because they're going to sell their house. These customers don't realise that it could be perceived as 'annoying' to a window cleaner that the window cleaner is just wanted for a shortish period of time. They just want their windows cleaned and are willing to pay.
I also didn't used to take on new cleans with a 'for sale' sign outside, but I do now; houses aren't being sold quickly, instead of three-or-four months, it's more like a year or more.

Also, you'll get the next occupant with no effort.

I won't rule out these jobs. I just want them to be honest with me so that I can make the appropriate charge. I know it's obvious to us but the occupants aren't always aware that doing such a clean takes a lot longer.
