Can anyone help, I have an omnipole wfp holding tank and system. I have just replaced the membranes, filters and flow restrictor, as something was not working correctly, and I was not sure wish. Its near enough a new system, but when I switch it on its not purifying the water. Tds meters reading 280. Ive gone through everything, has anyone any idea why water is not purifying?
-
have you def got it plumbed up the right and made sure the float cut off switch on top of tank is not stuck are you not getting any water through whats so ever..
-
plumbed up right, water coming through good , but not purifying
-
ok first of all did you rinse all your filters before you put them in and for at least the first half an hour of making water you should be chucking it all away..have you got a booster pump on it..
-
also make sure when you put your membranes in that they have made a tight fit and the seal is not broken (the bit of rubber round the ends).
-
membranes fitted tightly, rubber seal was ok
-
didnt rinse filters, and have run for about half an hour but not constantly, and just have 100psi pump, have been making water this way for 6 years with no problems till now
-
i would leave it running for a little while to let it settle down then check the tds of each individual membrane to see if you have a dodgy one. i have a omnipole static system and never really had a problem when changing filters except for a dodgy membrane.
-
will run system and see if it changes, but have noticed waste water is dripping out now not how it should be, have got a new 800 flow restrictor that cant be working properly, where do you get your flow restrictors from, as everyone I contacted does not sell them.
-
got my last one from ro-man cant remember what size but can look in the morning, daft question have you def got the flow restrictor the right way round.
-
arrow points in the direction that the waste water is going out
-
yeah thats right then, i would check the membranes 1 by 1 and then go from there it does seem to take a little while for these systems to bring it right down mines the same... in future tho make sure you wash the pre-filters before you put them in and i generally run it for an hour to flush all the crap out .
-
thanks will check all the membranes, but i feel the water is running into the tank way to fast, dont know what could be causing that
-
it does sound like a flow restrictor problem then.. i will look in the morning what size we use and will post tomorrow.
-
If the water is coming out of the membrane casing at 260 thats your problem. If you say its coming out too fast that indicates its getting through a hole somewhere. It could be a faulty membrane, it does happen
-
thanks again for your help, theres not much else it could be, i will check membranes tomorrow
-
Our flow restrictor is a 550

Stupid question - but have you got the waste and pure going to the right place?
The TDS of the inlet water maybe 300 but the waste will be higher and the pure very low if everything is working correctly. Its easy to get the outlets confused.
