Hi Guys,
Another newbie question:
What are the pros and cons of using powdered detergents vs liquid detergents? Does either offer a better/safer/more economical clean?
In particular I'm looking between Fabric & Fibre Rinse and Fibresafe Gold.
For use in truckmount system, for a newbie.
Regards,
Ashley.

Powders are more economical, make sure they are mixed with red hot water properly otherwise they can clog sprayers, jets etc.

Generaly I find powereds to be more powerful cleaning agents, and like Mark said more economical.
-
Cheers for the replies chaps, looks like powders are the way to go! :)

If you are putting cleaning solutions through the machine then liquids are considered better for the machine. If using sprayers then not so much a problem with powders.
It's far easier to sort out a clogged sprayer jet than a machine pump.
-
So basically Neil you suggest that presprays are better powdered, while rinses/detergents are better as liquids? Have I got that right?
I've booked an IICRC course for early May, I'm just trying to get as prepared as possible before attending.
Thanks again,
Ashley.

I would say so, yes.

I use M Power, which is a liquid, mixed
with Soluboost, which is a powder as a
pre spray.
Always check the sprayers filter every couple
of days.
For extraction I use Double Clean or F and F
Rinse, powder and liquid.
The powder does tend to last longer than the
liquid and I probably use the powder more.

Liquids will mix into solution better if you only have cold water available.
We use Liquid Formula 90 from Chemspec at 1:1000 dilution.
-
Liquid F90 is the most economical product I have ever used. A bottle of that goes a very long way.
-
I have used chemspec dfc 105 on a few jobs of late......with good results....its liquid and doubles as a pre spray as well as tank solution..
-
Got to agree DFC105 is excellent both as a prespray and in tank solution,if required.
