Title: Rotary/Bonnet machines advice please
Post by: coyote7 on April 23, 2011, 12:25:01 pm
Hi Guys,

I have only ever used hwe but have been wanting to try out other methods. I have done a few commercial jobs recently on carpet tiles and they want to use me for maintance cleans now every 3-6 months and with quick drying times being essential I am looking to buy a rotary machine of some sort.

Can I have your opinions of what I should be looking for, what kind of rpm speed and what pads I should be looking to use ???

Thanks ;D

Rich.

15-17" rotary with a brush and drive plate. Ideally with a tank, but not essential.
Alot of brands about and different people will have their own favourites but I have used Numatic & Victor and my current is a Numatic 175rpm.
Its recommeneded you go upto 200 RPM although another on here Jasonl I think uses higher rpm rotaries successfully and having used a 300rpm for a while I tend to agree with him that they can be used

Again with pads there are many different ones about, personally I use the first two on the link http://www.amtechuk.co.uk/shop/search-results.php although you can probably get them cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I forgot to mention I would only be using the machine for carpets as I do not do hard floors.

Thanks for the offer of the machine but I have only just started looking so want to see what other options I have besides you are a good 4 hour drive away from me.

Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rich ;D
