Do you have regular holidays? Including weekend breaks.

And why/why not?

Not yet. Spent four years building the business up and now can't take time off due to too much work  :-[

Also not keen on losing income and paying premium prices during school holidays.
Might try and sort something out in October or even the Christmas period next time.

Managed a couple of weekend breaks to London though but that's it.

Get away with the caravan as many weekends as we can and normally have a week in Woolacombe every Autumn.

Oh and 5 or 6 scooter rallies a year

Was getting a free boating holiday in August on my mates cabin cruiser. Big 7 berth job. Bad news is, it's not going to be ready in time so had to cancel. :(

Weekends away in the caravan is great for us. Simple people have simple needs. :D

I took 3 hols abroad last year and a few weekends away. So far this year I've had one weekend in Pwellheli in north Wales last week.

barbados and new york this year.was planning on going to mauritius at the start of june as well but cancelled that holiday as ive had nearly a full 3 weeks off and lost out on a fair whack of income due to ankle injury.

i  used to like going camping for the odd weekend but ive not done that for a few years now.

some of you have much better businesses than me and hardly ever take any time off for relaxing and holidays.what are you working all the time for?your a long time dead!!

when your lying on your deathbed you wont be thinking"i wish id of worked more hours" youll be saying"why didnt i spend more time with my family and friends!!" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

maybe so but maybe by working all the hours we are providing for family which to me is important. When on my death bed i want to think that i have done my family proud and not gone without due to me being a lazy bar steward taking days off as and when plus i dont think there are many window cleaners that put in  more than 30-40 hours in a week . Anyway daz dont most people work 40-50 hour weeks in there jobs i have a mate who is a sparky and he works a 60 hour week 12 hour days mon to fri but he still has hes life and weekends with the fam taking kids without a worry if can afford to or not. Mind you he also gets holiday pay etc so im kinda jealouse of him.

Just booked up to take the family to New York in August for a week. This will probably be the last holiday we take as a family as the boys won't want to come away with us much longer.

I work 5 full days Monday to Friday, and maybe 2 out of 3 Saturday afternoons. Fortunately I love my work, and I love my family too.

Having a loving wife and 4 children to support, I am not in the running to have regular holidays anyway the way things are.

As a family we prefer to go out for the day when the weather/circumstances allow. The spontaneity of doing this it makes us more appreciative of the days we spend together.

John.

Actually I feel quite sad about it. Its sort of recognition that a phase in your life is passing, thats why we decided to make it a good one. The oldest is 19 now, the only reason he wants to come with us this year is because its New York

We make sure we get abroad at least once or twice a year; Caribbean last year, Florida the year before; you have to.

I wouldn't work as hard as I do if I couldn't afford to take the family away as much as we could; it'll be more soon as we're working even harder this year.

I work for our holidays. We "collect" countries, and the wife has a fridge magnet for every country we've been to to prove it ;D
