the one that fits on the reel , i,ve bought 2 new one,s this week and i still have to keep taking it off putting on at each house , i,ve tried the expensive and the cheap and no difference , until i take it off the water just trickles out of the brush , there is a pressure build up and you really have to tug it off the reel , when its replaced the water usually flows great , its very time consuming to keep doing it all day , any ideas what the problem is guys regards alan

it sounds like wither a ir trap. or pressure switch problem, what tank u got and what pump
when u disconnect the poel does the pump stop straight away

Mate is the hozelock fitting one of the ones with the stopper in it? so when you take it off no water comes out?
I used to have probs with these on my washer, sometimes the pressure builds up and they slide back a little bit off the quick release, therefore the stopper kicks into action and stops the flow. Might not be your problem, but just have a look next time it happens, and you might see that the fitting looks like its coming off. just push it back on hard.

Beat me to it, I use gardiner connectors,

its a 2 man diy setup 650 tank , 1 shurflo pump and 1 flojet both with flow controllers , the reel i,m getting most problems with has the flojet on it , i,ve used lots of different hozelock type fittings including the gardiners ones and none lasts very long , i do get airlocks some times and this adds to the problem , do you think its worth changing the pump ? regards alan

All the connectors youve used have they been stopper ones or non stopper

i have got a flojet and have used sureflow, but i am too geting the same problem, i have to take it off and run it till the water is flowing, i think it has something to do with the pump pressure switch not kicking in properly,
try messing about with the dial on teh pump to see if it helps

chris i,ve tried both type of connector , regards alan

I used to get that all the time too. I just changed the Hozelock fitting to a "straight through" one, dont get any problems now
