Well, I think we should've went van-mounted years and years ago. It's so fast and easy, even we can hardly believe it. Wor Lass rarely gets excited about anything 'window cleaning', but she loves it. She now moans if she's got to use a squeegy (which is pretty rare). She thinks the SLX is brilliant, and even today she had a 'rant' about how quick we were, how much extra work we did, and how early we finished; taking into consideration the amount of money we turned over.
I also like doing drive-betweens (I used to dislike all the setting up time, and packing away time), but they're a doddle. Pull up, open the van, hit a button and walk towards the job with a pole and hose. Within 15 seconds from pulling up you're working.
While working, it's a much more pleasant experience, we've more energy left when we finished work, a bigger turnover while we're working (at least 25% to 50% I estimate so far); the van is more comfortable to have lunch in and we've more room to take a bigger lunch with us.
I also assumed that we would be having loads of frustrating times with the hose and having to keep moving the van; but this isn't the case. The microbore is easy to handle, and I don't have to keep moving the van at all. My work is pretty compact on the whole.
In short going van-mounted is flippin' fantastic; we're both really pleased; we just need more work now, and motivation is at an all time high. ;D
I've even put in for a Bid to Win course run by that firm that runs courses for window cleaners; how profeshonal am I; and I think I'll go and do some 'elf 'n' safety courses.
I'll put some pics up of the van when I'm finished with it; but I've got to nip out now.
PS. Thanks for taking an interest, Franky! ;D
